Marikina Mayor Del De Guzman is inviting everyone to take part in the awareness program in support to the ICan Serve Foundation's "Ating Dibdibin" program.
"We support the Ating Dibdibin program because we can save many lives if women only knew how to detect breast cancer at its early stages," De Guzman said.

According to 2010 Cancer Facts and Estimates (Philippines), breast cancer is the leading cause of cancer morbidity and mortality among Filipino women accounting for almost 30 percent of all female malignancies.
Latest data reveals that three out of every 100 Filipinas are likely to develop breast cancer in their lifetime, and one out of every 100 are likely to die from the disease before age 75.
"With an increasing number of incidents, breast cancer must be detected early so that appropriate treatment could be applied," said De Guzman.
He added that the city government, through the city health office (CHO), is doing its best to keep their residents, both men and women, from developing breast cancer.
The CHO regularly conducts programs on breast cancer awareness. It offers free breast examination and referrals to private clinics for mammogram (50 percent discount can be availed), and breast ultrasound (40 percent discount can be availed).
Likewise, the city offers continuous outreach activities to its 16 barangays.
