Cops continue probe on bus mishap in Bacoor City CAVITEX coastal road

Bacoor City police continued its probe on Friday on the tragic bus accident that left one dead, another victim's hand decapitated, seven seriously injured and around 45 other passengers hurt when the bus they were riding skidded and tumbled on its side two days ago in Cavitex Coastal Road, Barangay Zapote 5 in this city.
Bacoor City Police Chief Ronan Claraval said the driver, who is now in their custody, and the bus company were liable to the accident and would definitely shoulder all the expenses of the victims.
Charges have been prepared against the driver Jayson Garcia, 41 and the BSC bus company for reckless imprudence resulting in homicide, multiple injuries and damage to properties as the wayward bus rammed into and damaged the guard railings on the road side.
According to Claraval, reports from his investigator and officer-on-case PO1 Marvin Ray Calaor, said the BSC bus (with plate number UYC 381) with 54 passengers on board including the driver, sped through the coastal road from Manila enroute to Batangas.
About 1:40 p.m., the bus suddenly wiggled, swerved on the side and rammed the coastal road guard railings and tumbled on its side.
Claraval said he and his police team and the Bacoor City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (DRRMC) rescue team and emergency responders rushed the passenger- victims to the St. Dominic Hospital in Bacoor City while the rest were brought to the Las PiƱas Hospital.
Police identified the lone fatality as Martin Philip Cailing Sosing, 25 of Nasugbo, Batangas while another victim whose hand was dismembered during the accident was identified as Sheryl Arcen Englatera, 27 from Barangay 649, Port Area, Manila and is now confined at the St. Dominic Hospital.
The other victims are still under medical treatment at the hospitals as relatives sought the bus company's liability to shoulder the victims' medical expenses. (PNA)
