Aquino declares November 7 a holiday

President Benigno Aquino III declared November 7 as a regular non-working holiday in line with the celebration of the Eid'l Adha (Feast of Sacrifice).
The National Commission on Muslim Filipinos recommended that the observance of Eidul Adha be on 7 November 2011 and the Eidul Adha prayer held on 6 November 2011.
The declaration of the holiday was based on Proclamation 276 of the President signed on October 20, according to Deputy Presidential spokesperson Abigail Valte.
Republic Act No. 9849 provides that Eidul Adha shall be celebrated as a regular holiday, Eidul Adha is one of the two greatest feasts of Islam.
In addition, other holidays include November 1, in observance of All Saints' Day, and October 31, which Aquino declared as a special non-working holiday.
