National Youth Commission to hold young leaders' camp

First year college students, who are active community youth leaders will gather in a three-day youth camp and workshop to be held from October 289-30 at the Meralco Development Center in Antipolo City.
The program dubbed as ARC Young Leaders Camp- geared for underserved but deserving members of the youth, is being organized by the National Youth Commission in partnership with Asiawide Refreshments Corporation (ARC), makers of RC Cola in the Philippines and Zesto Fruit Soda.
"The camp seeks to hone the participants' leadership potential and sense of environmental stewardship as well as equip them with other personality and social skills that would eventually lead them to become successful, productive, and socially aware society movers and professionals," stated in a press release.
According to the website of National Youth Commission (nyc.gov.ph), the applicants who wish to join must possess the following qualifications: (1) a Filipino citizen, (2) currently residing in Metro Manila, (3) currently enrolled as a First Year tertiary student in a university or college in Metro Manila, (4) Must be actively involved in a school-based or community-based organization, (5) Knowledgeable in current national and local issues, (6) Physically and mentally fit, (7) Of good moral character, as certified by a school and/or an authority/upstanding member of the community, (8) Must be willing to commit to all levels of the program, including the completion of a project to be executed after the camp; and, (9) Must be willing to be a volunteer of the NYC and the ARC after completing the program.
Interested applicants must submit the following requirements: 1) Accomplished application form with 2x2 size ID picture, 2) One (1) original copy of a certificate of good moral character, 3) An essay containing: brief write-up detailing the applicant's profile and achievements (not more than 300 words) and what the applicant expects to gain from the program (not more than 150 words).
