Milk can slim you down

Have you thought of avoiding milk because it makes you fatter? Recent studies have found otherwise.
A group of Swiss scientist has found a substance in milk which acts similar to red wine in shielding the body from obesity in spite of a diet high in fat.
The said research seeks to search for different ways to target a exact gene, SIRT1, known for improving metabolism and longevity.
An identified a substance in milk have found to behaved similarly to one of the health-boosting ingredients in red wine, resveratrol, according to the researchers from Ecole Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne.
Researchers found that lab mice fed a high-fat diet and high doses of nicotinamide riboside, a naturally occurring substance in milk burned more fat and were protected from obesity as published in the journal Cell Metabolism.
Furthermore, they noted that the mice turn out to be better runners, increasing higher endurance and stronger muscles.
However before you drink a gallon of milk along with your burger and fries, researchers warned that the substance would likely work differently in humans when consumed as just a glass or two alone. The more possible chances is that the compound would provide a metabolism booster in the form of supplements.
