Summer is the season to look forward to every year. It is the chance to put your feet up and take a break from stress and exhaustion brought about by your hectic schedule. It is the perfect timing to hit the beach or go out-of-town while enjoying the kiss of the sun. However, you should not compromise your skin health in exchange for fun.
Why choose between fun and a good skin when you can have both? Here are some tips on how to celebrate summer while being fair to your skin at the same time:
1. Wash your Face
While you expose your skin to summer heat you also expose it to dirt, dust and other impurities. You don't want your face to be harmed by any bacteria, so you better wash your face and keep it moisturized. Remember that when your skin is dry, it becomes more delicate thus more prone to damage so you better keep your moisturizer with you this summer.
2. Re-Apply Sunscreen
You cannot rely on the SPF level of your sunscreen alone. The secret to protecting your skin well enough is by applying it generously and frequently before embracing the heat of the sun. This simple routine in consequence will prevent premature skin aging and other skin problems.
3. Lessen your makeup
Since it's a hot and sweating season, applying thick make up will not be a good move. The makeup will only wear off, but before that, it will even melt down on your face causing an uncomfortable sensation, which will result to clogged pores and pimple breakouts later. And so, switch to a fresh look which requires only pinches of makeup and at the same time goes accordingly with the scorching hot season.
4. Keep your make up tools clean
Since you sweat more during summer, your skin becomes more prone to bacteria. To keep your skin safe from bacteria, you should disinfect your make up tools regularly. You can do that by disposing your pressed powder sponges weekly if you are using disposable ones, or by washing your make up brushes and applicators let them dry under the sun.
5. Drink Water
Sunburn is not the only skin problem that could occur due to over exposure to sun. Serious illnesses such as heatstroke, blisters and skin cancer might occur if proper skin care will not be put into practice. As simple as drinking 8 to 10 glasses of water will go a long way to your skin health. Keeping yourself hydrated will make your body healthy including the largest organ of your body.
