Sizzling heat. Tan lines. Swim wears. Cool water. Sweet delights. Adventure time. All this and more when summer heat already rises. But what if none of these exist for you? Would you bore yourself in the four walls of your room, watching movies and indulge with ample time of sleep?
You could bust that routine by trying different activities this hot season. Define the word "vacation" on your own terms.
1. Be productive
Try joining adventure camps with family/friends. You might discover new talents that would give highlight to your summer experience while sharing the season with the people you value the most.
Sign up for a summer job. It would not only be good for your resume but will also give you an experience of working. Not to mention you make some extra money!
Volunteer. Putting your own interests aside, it would be fun and enjoyable to volunteer for charitable works in your community to hone the hero in you.
2. Go places!
Use this opportunity to uncover the beautiful sceneries of the country and try delicacies that can only be found on that particular place.
Also by travelling you could learn how to pack for your tours and the do's and don'ts while on tour through experience and not through web pages.
3. Leave work/school stuff behind
The essence of SUMMER VACATION is to take a break from your hectic schedule. Set aside your laptop, notes and other business matters and refrain from checking your e-mail address, voice mails and don't call the office. That's a command!
4. Home sweet home
For those who can't afford to be outside and enjoy the outdoor adventures offered by the season, you could still consume and enjoy your vacation by doing the classics – household chores. View this rare opportunity as an advantage instead of as another work. This may sound off but doing things within the house could really help you spend your summer COOL.
Be the cook of the group. Try to bake sweets and chocolates for snack time. If you're not good in cooking, there's nothing wrong in cooking with a guide book on the side. Nobody's perfect on their first attempt.
Be playful. Experiment with old recipes. If you're done with the beginner level, you could put your imagination into practice. Summer is the perfect time to innovate and personalize (depending on your taste) the recipes you have in mind.
5. Chill and enjoy!
'Tis the season to be relaxed and pamper yourself a bit.
Have a new haircut to put you in the mood for summer. Get rid of your usual styles to add variation to your style and show off your personality. Seeking a professional advice regarding your hairdo would be a perfect option so you would end up a loser for the entire season.
Exercise! There's no space for excuses about time because you could have all the time of your vacation to get in shape and unleash the tension and stress that your work has given you.
Balanced Diet. Now is the time to indulge yourself with REAL FOODS. If during office hours and school days, fast food is your best friend, you can now balance your diet and get enough nutrition from your own cooking.
Do your hobbies. Lack of time is the reason why others don't enjoy their hobbies. But this whole vacation is yours and it's for you to embrace it.
You could follow whatever you want for your vacation. Be spontaneous. The world is yours, and you can do (almost) anything! Time for the beach, friends, and SUMMER! Time for FUN!!! A vacation is a frame of mind, not a place or schedule. So, do whatever gets you into it. (DABS)
