China proves they are more disaster-ready than before

China shows that they have improved their disaster response for the victims in the recent 7.0-magnitude quake that struck the Sichuan province on Saturday, that killed at least 188 people.
A refugee camp has been set up in Lushan county, one of the affected areas, to provide shelter to quake survivors. Some of the amenities found in the camp are trucks with x-ray equipment, phone-charging stations, bank tellers-on-wheels and insurance claims. Trucks providing instant noodles, bottled water and other supplies also came to aid the survivors in their necessities.
Last 2008, Sichuan was struck by a massive 8.0-magnitude quake that left about 70,000 people dead and over 18,000 missing. Two years later, the Western region of Yushu was also struck with a quake that killed more than 2,600 people.
The Chinese government is said to be "more mature" when it comes to dealing with the disaster since the recent quakes because of its fast coordination with the people. The Foreign Ministry said that China can cope without foreign assistance.
About 24 people are still reported missing while more than 15,000 have been sent to hospitals.
