DFA monitors Papua New Guinea incident

After a Filipina was allegedly gang-raped by ten armed men last week, the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) according to DFA Spokesperson Raul Hernandez, is now conducting strict monitoring systems in Papua New Guinea.
The Philippine Embassy in Port Moresby, PNG has been informed that the case is still "under police investigation."
Hernandez also said that the embassy is coordinating with the authorities of Papua New Guinea to determine what really happened. He also added that the victim has not yet returned to the Philippines and that she is requesting for her privacy.
The victim was with her Australian friend when the incident occured at Mount Hagen in Papua New Guinea's Western Highlands. The Australian was subsequently shot dead by the suspects, reports said.
