Brillantes: There discrepancies in RMA

Commission on Elections (Comelec) Chairman Sixto Brillantes said there were some discrepancies in the random manual audit (RMA) of the May 13 polls as it does not match the electronic results from the Precinct Count Optical Scan (PCOS) machines.
"There were some discrepancies and these are now being segregated already," he said.
However, he did not discuss details of the variances, saying they are still waiting for the initial report from Commissioner Christian Lim, who is the commissioner-in-charge of the RMA Committee.
Brillantes said it could be attributed to the difference in the manual appreciation of the votes since there is a 20 percent shading threshold for the PCOS machine.
RMAC Chairperson Henrietta de Villa seconded the statement of Brillantes.
But she noted that these "discrepancies" cannot be considered as official as yet since they will still have to go through the validation process. (PNA)
