Rainy Season: Emergency Survival Kit on the go!

Rainy season is now officially starting. It has its perks, like having a comfy long sleep, total satisfaction in sipping hot coffee or choco, and maybe just having a reason not to go to school or work.
However there are also disadvantages, like having cough, colds, flu and leptospirosis among others, having clothes that really take time to get dry, and all other hassles brought about by our 'might-seem-to-be-the-worst-enemy': flood.
More than expecting the benefits of the 'bed-weather' season, it is a good thing that we also prepare for the hassles it can bring.
Yes, especially in the Philippine metro, flood is automatic during rainy season, whether after a storm or even just a rain.
Worst case scenarios can result to hampered electricity, telephone; mobile and other communication lines. Most likely, rescue officers also won't be able to get in your place immediately due to, according to them themselves, poor urban planning, ineffective geo-hazard mapping of the cities, insufficient rescuers and rescue equipment, and many other factors.
And you don't want to starve and get sick while waiting for help, right?
So you better have an emergency survival kit so you and your family can endure the disaster coming.
Here are the things that should be inside your survival kit or emergency box:
1. Water
Store clean water in hygienic containers good for washing, drinking and cooking; estimate 1 gallon per person per day.
2. Food
Stock only non-perishable food like granola bars, dried fruit, crackers, cereals, canned goods like sardines, tuna, sausages, and biscuits. Also consider storing disposable plates and utensils with it. The amount of food should last for three days and should be enough for the family.

Secure laminated ID cards for family members with special concerns; Indicate name, address, phone, who to contact in case of emergency, contact details, the condition of the bearer and directions on what to do in case seen unconscious.
