'Emong' maintains strength and continues to move in a northward direction

At 10:00 AM today, the center of Tropical Storm "EMONG" was estimated based on all available data at 400 km East of Basco, Batanes (21.3°N, 126.2°E).
Maximum sustained winds of 75 kph near the center and gustiness of up to 90 kph. Forecast to move North at 19 kph.
Tropical Storm "Emong" is expected to be at 660 km Northeast of Basco, Batanes out of the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) by tomorrow morning.
Estimated rainfall amount within the 600 km diameter of the Tropical Storm is from 5-15 mm per hour (moderate-heavy).
Tropical Storm "Emong" is not expected to make landfall to any part of the country. However, it will continue to enhance the Southwest Monsoon which will bring moderate to occasionally heavy rains and thunderstorms over the western sections of Luzon and Visayas and light to moderate rainshowers and thunderstorms over the rest of the country.
Fishermen specially those using small seacrafts are advised not to venture out into the Northern and Eastern Seaboards of Luzon and Western Seaboard of Southern Luzon due to big waves generated by Tropical Storm "Emong".
