Pulse Asia: 43% of Filipinos says economy did not change

Despite the economic growth President Benigno Aquino III is bragging about, there are still 4 out of ten (43 percent) of Filipinos thinks that the Philippine economy is unchanged since last year, based on the Pulse Asia survey.
The said survey was done from June 20 to July 4, 2013 and plurality view or their main bases of their data gathering are from Metro Manila and rest of Luzon (48% to 50%) and Classes ABC and D (42% to 48%).
Meanwhile, 29% of Filipinos observe that the state of the country's economy worsened year-on-year, 28% showed a contrary opinion.
In Mindanao and those in Class E said that either the economy is unchanged (38% to 43%) or that it declined over the past year (37% to 41%).
In Visayas, public opinion is divided into three, with 39% saying the state of the national economy improved from last year, 32% believes that there is no change in economic conditions and 30% observing a worsening national economic situation.
Meanwhile, 61 percent of Filipinos believed that the inflation known as high prices of people's basic necessities is a national concern that should be controlled or brought up to the government.
In terms of salary, 49% of Filipinos said that there is really a need for salary hike, and another 41% believed that the government should do more to generate jobs.
