The Court of Appeals on Wednesday received a bomb threat from a female caller at about 9:30 a.m.
The caller alleged a bomb will explode in the main building of the CA along Orosa St., Malate, Manila.
According to CA Acting Presiding Justice Remedios Salazar-Fernando, they would not take chances on the lives of their employees as well as the property of the CA.
Hence, all the employees and officials of the CA were immediately ordered to vacate the CA premises.
Elements from the Manila Police District Explosive and Ordnance Division scoured the area.
Likewise, the Dept. of Justice also received a bomb threat at about 12:15 p.m. Wednesday.
Justice Secretary Leila De Lima immediately ordered all the officials and employees of the DOJ to vacate the premises.
De Lima also left the DOJ premises for security reasons and to attend to an unspecified important appointment.
A bomb squad from the MPD is now scouring the premises of the DOJ, specifically the executive offices at the second floor of the DOJ main building. (PNA)
