PH completes golden sweep of obstacle course racing at 32nd SEA Games

The Philippines dominated the obstacle racing course (OCR) at the 32nd Southeast Games at Chory Changvar Car Park on Sunday, May 7, winning the men's and women's relay events.
Mhick Tejares, Sandi Abahan, Tess Nocyao, and Mecca Cortizano defeated Indonesia to give the Philippines its eighth gold medal in the biennial meet. They completed the obstacle course in 33.73 seconds, beating the Indonesian side that had led the race.
Jayr De Castro, Mervin Guarte, Elias Tabac, and Ahgie Radan followed through in the men's division with another finals triumph. Their quartet recorded 24.47 seconds to beat Malaysia with a 25.15-second tally.
In total, the Philippines' OCR delegates collected four gold and two silver medals, ending their campaign in the 11-nation sporting competition on a dominant note.
On Saturday, the Filipinos had a 1-2 finish in the men's and women's individual events, sparking the country's five-gold haul on the first official SEA Games day.
Mark Julius Rodelas won the men's 100-meter crown, overcoming fellow Filipino Kevin Pascua. Rodelas clocked 25.19 seconds, more than a second earlier than Pascua's 26.81 mark.
Completing the all-Filipino women's 100m finals in 32.72 seconds, Precious Cabuya won the gold at the expense of Kaizen dela Serna.
