Blacklist International dominated Turkey's Fire Flux Impunity (FIMP) in their best-of-five quarterfinal showdown, 3-0, to reach the Mobile Legends Southeast Asia Cup (MSC) semifinals on Thursday, June 15, here in AEON Mall.
The Codebreakers scheduled their semifinal clash versus Cambodia's very own Burn X Flash on Saturday, June 17, after the latter swept RSG Singapore earlier led by Filipino import Mariusz "Donut" Tan.
Edward Jay "Edward" Dapadap and Kenneth "Yue" Tadeo bannered Blacklist's 11-minute Game One win over Fire Flux, boasting a 21-5 kill score.
Edward banked on Lapu-Lapu to register five kills and nine assists without dying once as Yue posted a 9/1/9 kill-death-assist (KDA) performance on masterful use of Valentina, highlighted by his maniac in the 9:57 mark.
Fire Flux surprised Blacklist in the early stages of Game Two behind Sidar "Tienzy" Menteşe's Fanny pick that proved effective. Unfortunately, the Codebreakers remained composed in this close encounter to win the dogfight.
Helping Blacklist overcame the Turkish side, 12-6 in kills, Lee Howard "Owl" Gonzales earned the MVP nod in Game Two with a 6/1/1 KDA.
With Fredrinn banned by Sacit "Badgalseph" Arslan, Danerie James "Wise" del Rosario chose to play jungle Valentina. Fire Flux took notice of Wise's excellent wielding of Fredrinn in Blacklist's first two games.
FIMP got the early game. Fire Flux came off aggressive with a lineup featuring Brody, Bane, Arlott, Novaria, and Grock.
However, Fire Flux just cannot stop Blacklist from finding ways to counter its strategies. The Codebreakers went amok from the mid to the late game to get the job done, courtesy of Edward's Joy with a 3/0/8 tally and Yue's Yve on a 10/1/7 effort.
Blacklist, the three-time Mobile Legends Professional League (MPL) Philippines champion, is now a series away from advancing to their first-ever MSC finals.
