A preparatory school in the United Kingdom recently hired an artificial intelligence (AI) robot as their "principal head teacher."
In a report, the Cottesmore School in West Sussex uses the AI robot Abigail Bailey to help Tom Rogerson, the school's headmaster, to make decisions for the school.
In an interview, Rogerson said Bailey will assist him to form decisions and advice on different issues to support staff members in teaching pupils with ADHD and writing school policies.
Like ChatGPT, Bailey is an AI service users can ask questions and get answers from.
Rogerson also said Bailey was created with plenty of knowledge in machine learning and handling education systems.
"Sometimes having someone or something there to help you is a very calming influence. It's nice to think that someone who is unbelievably well-trained is there to help you make decisions," Rogerson said.
"Of course you do. It's just very calming and reassuring knowing that you don't have to call anybody up, bother someone, or wait around for an answer," he added that despite the help of the Bailey, they still seek counsel from humans. (KBAPI)
