One of the suspects who robbed a shop in New York a year ago has been recently arrested because of his distinctive low-slung trousers and colorful underwear.
According to NYPD/ATF Joint Robbery Task Force, the robbery incident happened at a tobacco shop in Queens on September 14, 2022, wherein three masked men entered the store to steal money and employees' cell phones.
Police report said that the two of the culprits had guns and they also stole marijuana products and ran for the idling car before escaping the place. The third suspect emptied the cash register and grabbed the cell phones of the employees.
The authorities shared to public video footage of the robber who is wearing low-slung pants with a brief that features letter "R" and "1990" in yellow.
NYPD said that an anonymous tipster helped them to track one of the suspects identified as Fathy Hussein, 30 after noticing his brightly colored brief.
The tipster shared the Instagram account of Hussein to the police with photos that show that he is wearing colorful underwear which led to his arrest last Wednesday. Also, the caller informed that Hussein and two robbers tried to sell their stolen goods at another Queens location.
Also, police said that they reviewed the video footage from the sale location and they easily identified Hussein since he is no longer wearing a mask.
Meanwhile, a spokesperson for the U.S. attorney's office said that Hussein is now waiting for his arraignment in federal court in Brooklyn.
The two other robbery suspects are still on the loose. (KBAPI)
