721 individuals in India earns Guinness World Record for walking on stilts at 1.24 miles

Over 700 individuals in India who are members of the Karbi community received a Guinness World Record for having the longest moving line of people walking on stilts.
The attempt was part of the 50th Karbi Youth Festival organized by the Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council in Assam, India, wherein 721 stilt walkers formed a line and walked 1.24 miles long.
According to Guinness, the participants who are part of the Karbi community walked on bamboo stilts for 10 minutes until the finish line.
Karbi community is known for the traditional sport of Kang Dong Dang and their participants for the world-breaking event are kids, teenagers, and adults who wore traditional garb.
"Breaking the Guinness World Record title for the longest moving line of people walking on stilts was not just about achieving a milestone," said Rajeshan Terang, a secretary at Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council to Guinness World Record.
"Through this remarkable feat, we have showcased the vibrancy and strength of the Karbi people, inspiring pride and unity among generations. This achievement is a testament to what we can accomplish when we come together with determination, passion, and a shared sense of purpose," Terang added. (KBAPI)
