2 die, 3 hurt in South Cotabato highway mishap

KORONADAL CITY – Two persons were killed while three others were injured in a three-vehicle collision along the national highway in Tupi, South Cotabato, at dawn Thursday.
Emil Sumagaysay, head of the Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council, said the road crash occurred around 4 a.m. involving a pickup truck, a fish car, and a 10-wheeler container vehicle.
"Two of those on board the black pickup vehicle with temporary license plate number 1201-628702 were killed on the spot, but their identities are yet to be determined," Sumagaysay said.
The driver and two helpers of the fish car were critically injured, he added.
Following the incident, Sumagaysay appealed to commuters to respect the highway speed limit even when no traffic enforcers are on guard. (PNA)
