Calabarzon folks urged to cooperate in PSA surveys

CALAMBA CITY, Laguna – The Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA)-Calabarzon has urged residents of the region, particularly those chosen as sample households, to cooperate with researchers on the July 2024 Labor Force Survey (LFS) and 2024 Annual Poverty Indicators Survey (APIS).
PSA IV-A (Calabarzon) Regional Director Charito Armonia, in a phone interview on Thursday, underscored the importance of the public's cooperation with the statistical researchers assigned to collect the data.
"The information gathered is essential basis for program and policy implementation," she stressed.
Armonia continued that the 2024 LFS will gather data on the demographic and socio-economic characteristics of the population, levels and trends of employment, unemployment, and underemployment for the region.
Meanwhile, the 2024 APIS aims to establish a quantitative framework for planning and policy formulation concerning the labor market, as well as providing estimates for non-income poverty indicators.
In the region, there are approximately 2,112 sample households for the survey distributed in the provinces of Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Rizal and Quezon.
The surveys started July 8 and will end on July 31 this year.
The publication of the results for the LFS is scheduled for release in September, and for the APIS in December 2024, Armonia said. (PNA)
