"The prize money I received is a big help. Thanks to Gov. Henry Oaminal for increasing the champion's prize from P30,000 to P60,000 and for giving all the participants P3,000," Ilar, currently competing in the U-16 category at the Eastern Youth Chess Championships in Penang, Malaysia, said in an online interview Tuesday.
Last June, Borce delivered two golds and a silver in the U-12 category of the National Age Group grand finals in Dapitan City, Zamboanga del Norte.
