Chicken earns title for identifying letters, numbers

A chicken from British Columbia recently earned a Guinness World Record Title after correctly identifying different numbers, colors, and letters.
According to veterinarian Emily Carrington from Gabtiola, the owner of the extraordinary chicken named Lacey, she bought five hyaline chickens last year and trained hens to identify objects.
"Their job was to only peck the number or letter that I taught them to peck and ignore the other ones. Even if I add a whole bunch of other letters that aren't the letter they are supposed to peck, they will just peck the letter that I trained them to peck," Carrington said to Nanaimo News Bulletin.
Carrington said that she let her five chickens to attempt get a Guinness World Record. But only Lacey could identify six objects after showing the hen some letters, numbers, and colored objects in one minute.
Lacey gained a world record title for "most identifications by a chicken in one minute."
Meanwhile, Carrington said that Lacey's talent shows that chickens are intelligent.
