Unbeaten USA to face Brazil in Olympic basketball KO phase

ANKARA – Team USA, the favorite to win at the 2024 Paris Olympics, dominated Puerto Rico 104-83 on Saturday and will face Brazil in the men's basketball quarterfinals.
Guard Anthony Edwards, who plays for the Minnesota Timberwolves in the NBA, scored a game-high 26 points in the win at Lille's Pierre Mauroy Stadium.
Joel Embiid put in 15 points, Kevin Durant scored 11 points and LeBron James, Jayson Tatum and Anthony Davis each racked up 10 points for the star-studded American team.
Jose Alvarado, who plays guard for the NBA's New Orleans Pelicans, led Puerto Rico with 18 points.
Team USA won Group C with a flawless run and will play Brazil, which finished their group in third, at Bercy Arena on Tuesday.
In the other Group C match, Serbia beat South Sudan 96-85 and will meet Australia in a last eight game, also on Tuesday.
Host France will face Canada and Germany will take on Greece.
The Spanish women's national basketball team, meanwhile, beat Serbia 70-62 to top Group A with three victories.
Both have already qualified for the quarterfinals.
Spanish small forward Maria Conde scored 15 points to lead all scorers.
Point guard Yvonne Anderson had 18 points for Serbia, which finished the group stage in the second spot with two wins and a loss.
Another Group A team, China, won against underdog Puerto Rico to keep its last eight chances alive. China is third at 1-2.
Puerto Rico, which lost all three games, has been eliminated from the tournament. (PNA)
