A curious dog from Colorado, U.S., accidentally started a fire at their home after unintentionally turning on its owner's stove in the kitchen.
According to the social media post of the Colorado Springs Fire Department, they responded to a possible structure fire in a house on Rushmore Drive.
"Homeowners reported to our call takers that they had experienced a fire on the stove in their home that had been extinguished by one of the homeowners. Engine 23 arrived on scene at 4:47 a.m. at a residential home with no visible fire or smoke. Upon investigation, crews did not find any active fire but did find evidence of a fire," the fire officials said in their post.
Colorado Springs firefighters reviewed the home's CCTV footage and saw that the family's dog was sniffing some boxes on the stovetop and seconds later, the dog accidentally switched on the oven, which caused the fire.
"After talking to the homeowners and looking through their home security footage, we determined their pup got a bit curious and accidentally switched on the oven which had some boxes on top of it," Colorado Springs fire officials added.
Meanwhile, the man who put out the fire in the kitchen was treated at the hospital after experiencing smoke inhalation. Also, firefighters reported that no other people or pets were injured in the incident.
