Teacher yields P1-M shabu in Zambo Sibugay anti-drug op

ZAMBOANGA CITY – Authorities arrested a female school teacher and seized over P1 million worth of shabu following a buy-bust in Zamboanga Sibugay province on Friday night.
The 59-year-old teacher is a resident of Laminusa Island in Siasi, Sulu, according to Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency-Zamboanga Peninsula (PDEA-9) Director Maharani Gadaoni-Tosoc.
"The suspect was surprised upon knowing that she was dealing with a poseur-buyer," Tosoc told reporters here Saturday.
She was arrested by a joint team of PDEA and police officers around 7:25 p.m. in Purok Masigla, Barangay Poblacion, Ipil, the capital town of Zamboanga Sibugay.
Seized were 150 grams of suspected shabu worth P1,020,000, buy-bust money, and a mobile phone.
The suspect is currently detained at the PDEA detention facility in Zamboanga Sibugay.
Meanwhile, three suspects were also arrested around 6:30 p.m. Friday when joint PDEA and the police dismantled a drug den in Kapatid Drive, Barangay Sinunuc, this city.
Confiscated from the three were some five grams of shabu worth P34,000, buy-bust money, and other illegal drug paraphernalia. (PNA)
