MANILA – The last batch of Filipino crew members of M/V Minoan Courage attacked by Houthi rebels arrived safely at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) Terminal 3 in Pasay City on Wednesday.
The 10 Filipino crew members arrived Wednesday afternoon via Etihad Airways Flight 424.
The Department of Migrant Workers (DMW) said in a statement that all the 21 Filipino seafarers aboard the Greek bulker are now back in the country.
"All of the seafarers are safe and were repatriated through the joint efforts of DMW and OWWA (Overseas Workers Welfare Administration), in coordination with their licensed manning agencies and the shipowner," the DMW posted on social media.
On Oct. 1, 2024, MV Minoan Courage was hit by a Houthi missile while traversing the Red Sea.
The first batch of seven seafarers arrived in the country on Oct. 9 while another batch of four crew members arrived on Oct. 13.
The seafarers will undergo psychiatric evaluation.
They will receive all the necessary assistance from the DMW Aksyon Fund and OWWA. (PNA)
