EAC defeats Letran to secure Final 4 berth

MANILA – Emilio Aguinaldo College (EAC) defeated Colegio de San Juan de Letran, 69-68, Wednesday to grab solo fourth in the National Collegiate Athletics Association (NCAA) Season 100 men's basketball tournament at the Filoil EcoOil Arena in San Juan.
Harvey Pagsanjan sank three triples to finish with 13 points to go with five assists and three rebounds, while Niño Ochavo contributed 10 points, three rebounds and three assists as the Generals improved their record to 7-7 and moved closer to securing a Final Four berth since joining the league 15 years ago.
Gelo Loristo had six rebounds, two assists, and two blocks, while King Gurtiza made seven rebounds and two steals. Both scored nine points.
Jimboy Estrada, who had 14 rebounds, six assists, and two blocks, and Joseph Nuñag, who had six rebounds, finished with 10 points each for Letran, which slid to fifth at 7-8.
Vince Cuajao and Kobe Monje chipped in nine and seven points, respectively for the Knights, who triumphed in the first round, 75-73.
College of Saint Benilde (11-2) and Mapua University (11-3) claimed the first two slots in the Final Four. (PNA)
