BACOLOD CITY – Personnel of Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) and Bacolod City Fire Station (BCFS) are on their toes securing all 14 cemeteries and memorial parks across the city during the observance of the All Saints' and All Souls' Days.
A total of 11 private memorial parks and three public cemeteries are situated in Bacolod.
Capt. Ma. Liberty Indiape, public information officer of BCPO, said they are implementing both security and traffic plans to ensure the safety and smooth travel of Bacolodnons during the two-day celebration.
"We are working with our partners in the Bacolod Traffic Authority Office along with the police Traffic Enforcement Unit," she added.
Capt. Joel Portos, assistant chief of BCPO City Operations Management Unit, said police assistance desks (PADs), each manned by at least two personnel, have been set up in every cemetery.
"The public can report any incident to the PAD so that the police can immediately take action. Police personnel are equipped with radio handsets for faster communication," he added.
Portos said that mobile patrol operations personnel are also ready to respond to untoward incidents in their respective areas of responsibility while force multipliers are assisting in traffic operations.
Alongside the police, the BCFS has dispatched 114 personnel in 13 cemeteries as well as in the seaport and bus terminals as part of the Oplan Kaluluwa 2024 deployment of the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP).
"BFP personnel are conducting ambulance and firefighter standby and coordinating with the Philippine National Police personnel, and also distributing fire safety leaflets," the BCFS said in a statement. (PNA)
