MANILA – The government of the Republic of Korea is extending USD500,000 (approximately P29 million) in aid to support the recovery efforts in areas pummeled by severe tropical cyclones in the Philippines.
The Korean Embassy announced the humanitarian assistance on Friday, which it said will be coursed through the World Food Programme (WFP)
"The Korean government hopes that this assistance will contribute to the recovery of the affected areas and aid the swift return to daily life for residents in those regions," it said.
This fresh funding will focus on supporting relief efforts in areas that suffered typhoon damage.
Thousands were displaced by Typhoon Marce, which battered several parts of Luzon, weeks after Severe Tropical Storm Kristine and Typhoon Leon. (PNA)
