DSWD-10 dispels false claims of educational assistance

CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY – The Department of Social Welfare and Development in Northern Mindanao (DSWD-10) is urging the public to verify information before acting on rumors about educational assistance programs.
Oliver Inodeo, focal person for the DSWD-10 Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program, reported that approximately 30 students from two universities here recently visited the regional office after learning of unverified information about educational aid.
"Someone circulated this information and unfortunately, the students believed it," Inodeo said.
In response, DSWD-10 issued a statement reminding the public that the agency is currently focusing its resources on urgent medical and burial assistance for those in life-threatening situations.
The agency advises the public to rely on official announcements to avoid misinformation and unnecessary inconvenience. (PNA)
