Marcos: Filipinos deserve Christmas after 'tough year'

Philippine President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. said Sunday that every Filipino deserves to celebrate Christmas after what is considered a tough year.

The president also called on the public to remember all those who have been affected by the recent typhoons.

Marcos conveyed this message at the Christmas tree lighting ceremony at the Kalayaan Grounds in Malacañang.

He said his "wish is that despite everything, every Filipino should somehow feel Christmas. Because after all, no matter how many typhoons they throw at us, no matter how many problems are thrown at us, there's nothing that will quench the Christmas spirit in the Filipino heart."
