DepEd decries budget cut

Department of Education Secretary Sonny Angara have decried the decision to cut DepEd's budget by P12 billion.
Originally, DepEd's was asking for P748.65 billion for 2025 in the reconciled version of the General Appropriations Act. This was reduced to P737 billion.
In his post Thursday, Angara said that it's sad that both Houses of Congress have decided to decrease by P12 billion the President proposed for DepEd for 2025.

Out of the amount slashed, P10 billion is from the department's computerization program.
On one hand, DepEd's budget for 2024 was at P715.29 billion. An increase of about P22 billion.
