Sec. Gatchalian: DWSD exclusive implementor of AKAP

Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Sec. Rex Gatchalian recently clarified that the only implementor of the Ayuda para sa Kapos ang Kita Program (AKAP) is the DSWD.

According to Gatchalian, AKAP's funds are from the budget of DSWD and did not come from politicians nor public servants.

The secretary also indicated a strict process is being followed in order to choose a beneficiary to make sure that the distribution is fair.

Gatchalian also noted that AKAP is different from the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps). He said that the latter is a regular financial aid that aims to help the beneficiaries from financial difficulty while the former is aimed for immediate need.
