PBBM approves Nat'l Security Strategy to address challenges

Pres. Ferdinand Marcos Jr. has approved the 2024 National Security Strategy (NSS).
In a statement Sunday, National Security Adviser Eduardo Año said that the president has approved the NSS in a meeting at the Malacañang Palace Thursday.
The NSS is seen as a vehicle to enhance the country's capability to face complex security challenges locally and globally.
Año also said that the role of the NSS in addressing threats will also focus on the well-being of the Filipinos.
According to state media, the priorities for the NSS include investing in education and healthcare, strengthening governance, and leveraging technology to enhance national defense. It also aims to protect critical industries, support economic growth, and uphold the country's sovereignty, while ensuring opportunities for future generations.
