DOH dismisses international health concern

The Department of Health (DOH) dismissed reports of an international health concern Friday.

According the health department, "reliable sources currently do not support circulating posts on social media about an alleged international health concern."

The health concern mentioned involves influenza A, HMPV, mycoplasma pneumoniae, and COVID-19 affecting hospitals in China.

The Chinese Embassy in Manila also dismissed the posts as "fake news."

The DOH also emphasized that it is an active participant in the network of WHO Member States that follow the International Health Regulations (IHR). Further, it indicated that it is actively verifying all information to keep the public informed.
