Marcos removes VP from NSC

President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. has removed Vice President Sara Duterte as member of the National Security Council (NSC).
This after Marcos signed Executive Order (EO) No. 81, Monday, which introduced a reorganization of the council.
Aside from the vice president, all former presidents have been removed from the council as well.
The EO emphasized the need to strengthen the NSC as a resilient institution capable of addressing evolving domestic and international challenges.
The order also seeks to ensure that the members of the council uphold national security and sovereignty, fostering effective governance and stability.
