During a press briefing at the LRT-2 Antipolo Station, Transportation Secretary Vince Dizon announced that the student fare discount is part of President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.'s directive to ease the financial burden on students and their families.
DOTr Secretary Vince Dizon clarified that the 50% student discount also applies to students enrolled in postgraduate studies and can be used every day on train lines, including Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays.
LRT-2 serves Manila's University Belt, home to numerous colleges and universities. To avail of the promo, students must present a valid school ID for the current academic year. The discount applies only to Single Journey Tickets and is not valid for Beep Cards or Stored Value Tickets. Eligible students must purchase tickets at the station's ticket counter to receive the discount.
