The Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation (PAGCOR) has issued a strong warning to the public against unauthorized offshore gambling websites that falsely claim to be licensed by the agency.
PAGCOR Chairperson and CEO Alejandro Tengco stated that some platforms have been found illegally using PAGCOR's name, logo, and fabricated license certificates to appear legitimate. He emphasized that such acts constitute blatant dishonesty and pose a serious risk to the safety and security of the public.
"Public safety is our top priority. We strongly encourage everyone to stay cautious and only engage with verified and licensed gaming operators. Protecting yourself from fraudulent platforms is the first step toward responsible gaming," said Tengco.
In line with this, Tengco reiterated that, following the directive of President Ferdinand Marcos Jr., all Philippine Offshore Gaming Operations (POGOs) will be banned nationwide effective December 31, 2024.
PAGCOR urges the public to remain vigilant and to verify the legitimacy of any online gambling site before engaging with it. For accurate and updated information, the public is advised to visit PAGCOR's official website at www.pagcor.ph.
