VP Sara Duterte disapproves of online gambling

Vice President Sara Duterte voiced her opposition to online gambling as lawmakers continue to push for a complete ban in Congress.

Speaking at the "Free Duterte Now" rally in The Hague, Netherlands, Vice President Sara Duterte shared her stance during an ambush interview, stating, "I am against online gambling. So hindi ako sang-ayon sa lahat ng klase na pagsusugal online dahil hindi nakokontrol ng mga magulang ang akses ng kanilang mga anak diyan sa internet," Duterte said.

The Vice President expressed concern over how online platforms have made gambling more accessible, leading many families to fall into serious debt. "At napakadali, ginawang pinakamadali ang magsugal sa online para madaling makuha ang pera ng mga tao," she added.

While some lawmakers in both the Senate and House support a full ban on online gambling, others are pushing for stricter regulations or limited access rather than an outright ban.
