Sen. Pangilinan urges delay in senate vote on VP Sara's impeachment

Senator Kiko Pangilinan is calling on the Senate to hold off on the plenary vote regarding the impeachment case against Vice President Sara Duterte.
The senator pointed out that the case is still pending resolution, as the House of Representatives has yet to act on the Motion for Reconsideration (MR). Pangilinan added that deferring the vote makes sense, particularly since around 19 to 20 senators from the majority are reportedly leaning toward upholding the Supreme Court's decision.
"So if 19 or 20 are to abide by the ruling of the SC, we should, at the very least, hold in abeyance any vote to dismiss until the MR is resolved so the Senate will know exactly what final ruling we are to abide by and respect," Pangilinan said.
However, Senator Jinggoy Estrada said that the Supreme Court's ruling declaring the articles of impeachment against the Vice President unconstitutional should already be considered final and followed.
The Senate is set to convene in plenary on August 6 for the impeachment vote.
