The Department of Justice (DOJ) has warned individuals linked to the alleged multibillion-peso flood control scam to conduct themselves properly as the investigation continues.
DOJ spokesperson Atty. Mico Clavano called out the behavior of Cezarah "Sarah" Discaya, who flashed a finger-heart sign and spoke casually in front of reporters, saying it was inappropriate given the seriousness of the case.
"The gesture and remarks of Ms. Discaya show a lack of sincerity and seriousness. These are being considered in our review of those involved," Clavano said.
He added that the DOJ is closely monitoring the conduct of all parties connected to the probe. "We ask everyone connected to this case to behave properly," he stressed.
As she left the DOJ premises, Discaya also joked to reporters, saying, "Gandahan niyo 'yung memes ko."
The DOJ, working with law enforcement and independent agencies, is building cases against those suspected of benefiting from the controversial flood control projects.
