'Free Period Products' bill, being promoted by Akbayan Party-list

The Akbayan Party-list is advocating for greater access to menstrual hygiene products in the nation through the "Free Period Products Bill."

The Free Period Products Act, sometimes known as House Bill No. 5179, seeks to increase girls' and women's access to free menstrual hygiene products in the nation. the nation's health facilities and public schools.

"The State acknowledges the part women play in nation-building and will thus safeguard and foster their empowerment. According to its declaration policy, "The State also acknowledges the crucial role of young people in nation-building and fosters and protects their physical, moral, spiritual, intellectual, and social well-being."

The State is obligated to ensure appropriate menstrual health and hygiene for girls and women as part of the policy which covers goods and education that are accessible, cheap, and safe.

Akbayan Representatives Dadah Kiram Ismula, Jose Manuel Tadeo "Chel" Diokno, Percival "Percy" Cendaña, and Dinagat Islands Rep. Kaka Bag-ao are the proponents the bill.
