Rep. Martin Romualdez, ready to publish his SALN at the request of ICI

Former House Speaker and Leyte 1st District Representative Ferdinand Martin Romualdez has said that he is prepared to make his Statement of Assets, Liabilities, and Net Worth (SALN) available upon formal request from the Independent Commission for Infrastructure (ICI).

In an ambush interview by DZRH news reporter Jecelle Ricafort, Romualdez stated that he is willing to assist the ICI's current inquiry into suspected anomalies in the infrastructure budgeting procedure.

However, when asked about any recent contact with former Ako Bicol Partylist Representative Zaldy Co, who resigned over doubts surrounding several infrastructure projects, Romualdez refused to respond.

The former Speaker also declined to comment on the issue even after several inquiries from the press but when asked whether Co should return to the Philippines, Romualdez said that every resource person called by the commission is anticipated to show up.

As part of transparency initiatives, ICI Executive Director Atty. Brian Hosaka said that he will notify commission members of Romualdez's readiness to disclose his SALN.
