PNP Chief: Nationwide implementation of 'Oplan Lambat-Sibat' set

The "Oplan Lambat-Sibat" of the Philippine National Police (PNP) is set for implementation nationwide after the launching of the Managing Police Operations of Lambat-Sibat Manual on Monday, PNP Chief Director General Ricardo C. Marquez said.
Marquez said the manual includes protocols and guidelines on the nationwide cascading of "Lambat-Sibat" for an effective, efficient and orderly flow of Managing Operations Patrol in the organization.
Marquez distributed the manual with a memorandum circular during Monday's flag-raising ceremony at the PNP National Headquarters in Camp Crame.
He warned that any PNP personnel failing to follow or comply with the manual can expect punishment.
The PNP's "Oplan: Lambat-Sibat" is a "brainchild" of former Interior and Local Government Secretary Manuel "Mar" Roxas which proved to be a major factor in reducing by almost 50 percent the street crimes in Metro Manila.
It is a reinvigorated crime prevention effort using "deliberate, programmatic and sustained" police operations such as Checkpoint, Oplan Bakal-Sita, Mobile Patrol, Beat Patrol and Oplan Bulabog supported by scientific crime reporting from the Police Community Precincts (PCPs), to the stations, to the districts up to the National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) and solving them based on statistics.
"Oplan Lambat-Sibat" is a system that uses crime data management and interpretation which helps the PNP in the strategic deployment of police personnel in densely- populated areas in the National Capital Region. (PNA)
