Radyo Natin Nationwide recently conducted a series of episodes of its current affairs segment "Radyo Natin Town Hall Meeting" with Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives and currently the Congresswoman of the Lone District of Antique Loren Legarda.
Legarda, who is also a senatorial candidate this coming election graced several episodes of Radyo Natin Town Hall Meeting to tackle some of her authored bills and plans for the country as it tries to recover from the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic. Questions were given to her by selected Radyo Natin stations from Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao.

This episode highlights the best pandemic recovery plan – to enhance Micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) because 99 percent of the Philippine economy is made of MSMEs. Legarda said that the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) "Pangkabuhayan program" and the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) sustainable livelihood program for the 4ps family are giving out capital for livelihood which can be also helpful for the pandemic recovery exit plan.

Unpaid care and domestic work take centerstage for Loren Legarda during Radyo Natin Town Hall Meeting
Legarda said in this episode that unpaid care is the love that women give without payment and domestic work is the responsibility that women do at home. She said that these situations happen to all women whether they are stay-at-home mothers or working moms.
Also, Legarda said that women face different challenges and roles in life such as being a mom, being a public servant, being a broadcaster, etc. Despite the different roles of women, they are still expected to look after their kids, and husbands and sustain their needs at home.

Radyo Natin Town Hall Meet: Loren Legarda highlights the importance of readiness during natural disasters
Readiness will prevent deaths during typhoons and other natural disasters. Also, land use planning should be implemented to identify areas with fault lines and the same regulation should be planned in areas near volcanoes, according to Legarda.
She also recommended the public to avoid staying or living in areas near the sea and mountains. Legarda believes that the government should implement an early warning system that can be understood easily by the locals.

Radyo Natin Town Hall Meet: Loren Legarda tackles on how a stable job, better health, and education system can fight insurgency
In order to fight insurgency, Filipinos should have jobs, education, and healthcare, especially for those who are from secluded areas, said Legarda. She added that the next government should also give focus on the peace talks. Also, Legarda said that she recently appealed to the government for the resumption of peace talks to take off from where we left off for the comprehensive agreement on socio-economic reforms.

Radyo Natin Town Hall Meet: Loren Legarda emphasizes vaccination as the first line of defense against COVID-19 pandemic
Vaccination is the first line of defense against the COVID-19 pandemic, according to Legarda. She also encouraged those who are not yet vaccinated should now get the first two doses, first booster, and second booster. Legarda applauded the local government units that exceeded their target vaccination limit.
Despite the continuous decrease of COVID-19 cases in the country, Legarda is also urging the public to keep on following COVID-19 health protocols such as wearing of face mask and following social distancing.

The 100 Radyo Natin stations in Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao will take turns in participating as members of the panel for the Q&A portion. Intended to create a sense of belongingness and connection between national candidates and the public from 1st to 5th class municipalities nationwide, Radyo Natin is determined to fulfill its public service mandate through this program.
