A company called Bee Guyz who is a bee removal expert was called to eradicate more than 15,000 honey bees that are staying on a piece of equipment at Louis Armstrong International Airport.
According to Craig Forsythe of Bee Guyz LLC, they were called out last Sunday by Delta Airlines workers to assist them in the removal of over 15,000 swarming insects inside a piece of equipment.
About 15,000 honeybees were found swarming inside a gear used for loading and unloading luggage from planes, said Forsythe.
"But, it was unexpected fliers at the airport, we sucked everything up – got every one of the bees up, and made sure we put them in a special place," Forsythe said told WDSU-TV.
Meanwhile, local reports said that none was injured during the removal of thousands of bees, as people inside the airport watched how the beekeepers worked. (KBAPI)
