MANILA – Several road sections in Quezon City will be closed for three days starting Friday night, as the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) resumes its weekly road reblocking works.
In an advisory, the department said road rehabilitation activities will be conducted along Epifanio de los Santos Avenue (EDSA) and other roads in the city starting 11 p.m.
The segments along EDSA Northbound that will undergo reblocking activities are: along Santolan MRT Station, bus lane; after P. Tuazon flyover to Aurora Tunnel, 3rd lane from center island (fast lane); after Aurora Boulevard to New York Street, 3rd lane from center island (intermittent section); and after Kamuning Road and Kamias Road to JAC Liner Bus Station, beside center island in Quezon City.
Also, the same road section along EDSA Southbound, from Balingasa Creek to Oliveros Footbridge, will be closed for the continuation of repair works.
Other roads in the city that will undergo similar repair works include Fairview Avenue Southbound, near Mindanao Avenue Extension, 1st lane from center island; Cloverleaf going to North Luzon Expressway (NLEX) Northbound; and Cloverleaf going to NLEX Southbound.
The DPWH advised motorists to take alternate routes to avoid traffic congestion caused by the road repairs.
The affected road sections are scheduled to reopen to traffic at 5 a.m. on Monday. (PNA)
