A pair of brown suede Birkenstock sandals formerly used and worn by Apple co-founder Steve Jobs were sold for more than $200,000 in an auction.
According to Julien's Auctions, the sandals was used by Jobs in many pivotal instants in Apple's history, especially in the 1970s and 80s.
"The cork and jute footbed retains the imprint of Steve Jobs' feet, which had been shaped after years of use," the description says.
Chrisann Brennan, Steve Job's ex-partner (and mother of Steve Jobs's first child, Lisa Brennan-Jobs) said in an interview in Vogue that "the sandals were part of his simple side. They were his uniform. The great thing about a uniform is that you don't have to worry about what to wear in the morning."
Julien's Auctions said that despite the long-term usage of the sandals, it still remains intact and it features original Birkenstock adjustable buckles and Birkenstock stamping.
Meanwhile, Darren Julien, CEO and founder of Julien's Auctions said to CNN that "these beloved Birkenstocks were worn by Jobs as he made history in the making of the Apple computer and were the tech icon's signature staple." (KBAPI)
