SAN JOSE, Occidental Mindoro – Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) Occidental Mindoro and San Jose Municipal Police Station's (MPS) Drug Enforcement UNIT recovered more or less 50 grams of shabu (crystal meth) worth 350,000 pesos in a buy-bust operation here last February 26.
The joint forces arrested suspects "Burot", 25 years old and a resident of Barangay San Roque, and "Irene", 42 years old and a resident of Barangay Santa Lucia in Sablayan.
Burot and Irene, not their real names, both face charges in violation of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, according to a Facebook post by Occidental Mindoro Police Provincial Office.
Also confiscated from the suspects are the money used for the buy-bust operation, cellphone, cape box, and sling bag, which were all brought to Occidental Mindoro Provincial Forensic Unit to undergo examination.
Meanwhile, the suspects are currently under the custody of San Jose MPS.
The intensified anti-drug campaign in Occidental Mindoro is only one of the directives issued by its Provincial Director PCOL Jun Dexter Danao for continuous order and peace toward the Philippines' progress. (Maynard Jose Caoili/Radyo Natin Sablayan, Occidental Mindoro)
